T1 internet connection is a reliable and high speed digital transmission line, and most commonly used for Small to medium-sized businesses. It is also referred to as DS1 connection. Generally, the bandwidth of T1 connection is 1.544Mbps in all directions. You can also say that this is the fully dedicated high speed bandwidth in both uplink as well as downlink directions. Significantly this bandwidth is much higher than DSL and cable communication. That’s why it is often used for high speed data and voice (VoIP) traffic. In Europe, there is an equivalent transmission media which is known as E1 line and is very similar to T1 line. But it runs at 2.048Mbps.

There are many other forms of T1 service that are described follows:
Fractional T1
A fractional T1 is described as a small or a fraction of the bandwidth of T1 line. Although it is a fraction of T1 line but still it is very dedicated line with guarantees its bandwidth. It is suitable for utmost 20 users.

Integrated T1
Integrated T1 line is required to combine both the voice service and a data connection. In Integrated T1 connection, out of 24 available voice channels only a limited number is assigned. The remaining channels of T1 line is allotted for data transfer. It provides flexibility.

Point to Point T1
A point-to-point T1 connection is required when two locations required continuous connection. It is completely dedicated service between two locations with free calls or data communication between them.

Frame Relay Service
A frame relay service is quite similar to point-to-point service but it gives more flexibility. It can be connected to several locations but it gives low speed, that’s why its overall cost is low. But the speed can be upgraded when required.
Bonded T1
Bonded T1 is used if your need is not fulfilled by a single T1 line, then you can use two T1s or more in a bonded connection. For every single line you bond increases the speed by 1.5Mbps. It is not advisable to bond more than 4 T1 Lines together.

Burstable T1
Burstable T1 connection is used for those who are not sure that how much bandwidth they required. So in burstable T1 they give you a certain bandwidth but at times of heavy load it allows you a burst of high bandwidth.
