How to Shop For the Perfect Wedding Guest Dresses

It can be difficult to find the perfect outfit for a wedding. You need to find an outfit that of course fits the occasion and the venue in which it is to be held, but you need to make sure that your outfit remains slightly understated so that you do not outshine those in the wedding party, especially the mother of the bride. Typical colours for mother of the bride dresses tend to be in shades of blue, so that could be a good colour to avoid, although there is no set rule for this, and of course along with the outfit there is the hat, and you do not want to turn up at the wedding wearing the same as either her or any other guest for that matter.

Check the Colour Scheme

Occasionally wedding guests are asked to wear specific colours for a wedding, especially if the day is to follow a specific theme. Whilst this makes shopping for the perfect wedding guest dresses a little easier, by the fact that the colour palette you are choosing from has been reduced, it does make it slightly more likely that another guest will have selected the same outfit.There are a number of ways that you can adapt your outfit to look slightly different, especially if you have bought an off the peg dress that you know other wedding guests will have chosen. Think about the accessories that you can add to the outfit, not only the shoes and the hand bag, but also the hat or fascinator, hair accessories and jewellery. These are the things that turn an outfit from the ordinary into the fabulous.

There are a couple of things to bear in mind when you are looking for the perfect wedding outfit. If you are attending the entire wedding from service through to evening reception you need to find something that you are going to feel comfortable in for the entire day, so make sure that you select the right size and cut to give you the maximum comfort and the widest range of movement.
