Summer internship project of KIAMS is a great learning experience for the students as it provides them real industry exposure. Pawan Kr. Singh is busy completing his summer internship project in Pune with TTK Prestige Ltd. His marketing research project for LPG Gas Stove Division covers whole of Maharashtra, excluding only Mumbai. “It is a large territory, involving a lot of travel to meet distributors , dealers and customers to get their feedback. You get to resolve dealers’ issues and everyday experiences make you learn nitty-gritty of running big businesses,” says Pawan. He has his eyes set on joining FMCG sector, and that is precisely he chose TTK Prestige over other organisations for his project.

Pawan is from Bihar, and he had the option to choose any location in India for his summer project, but he zeroed in on Maharashtra. “This provides ample opportunity to learn as the whole operation is managed from Maharashtra. I don’t know the local language and it is a minor hurdle, but I am able to mange well as most of the people understand Hindi and at least elementary English,” explains Pawan.

Pawan believes that his current industry exposure will help him immensely to find work in FMCG sector. “I am a workaholic, and enjoying every minute spent working, understanding distribution network and the supply chain. This understanding of business will make me stand in good stead when I make a foray into my chosen sector,” says Pawan. Judging by the enthusiasm in his voice, it appears that this gas stove project experience will ensure he never runs out of gas and the tricks that he is learning at Prestige is a sure recipe for success. In the fast, furious, frantic environment that today organizations work in, second place is not an option. "Anything goes" is the code. And time itself is against you.
